NO_ACCOUNT NO_TRACKING ON_DEVICE_DB NO_TRACKING_SDKS

> TL;DR

Rival Radar is local-first. Your competitive data — tracked apps, snapshots, keyword ranks, history — stays on your device. We operate no servers, require no account, and run no analytics. The only off-device processing is anonymous purchase information handled by Apple and RevenueCat to validate Pro access.

01 // WHAT_WE_STORE — AND WHERE

All of Rival Radar's data lives in a local database on your device (Apple's SwiftData, inside the app's sandbox):

  • the apps you register and the rivals you link to them
  • listing snapshots, change events, and comparison runs
  • review snapshots and mined complaint topics
  • keyword lists and search-rank history
  • country selections, settings, and your Pro entitlement cache

None of this is uploaded anywhere. There is no account, no login, and no server-side copy of anything. If it's on your phone, that's the only place it exists.

02 // NETWORK_REQUESTS

Rival Radar's only network traffic goes to Apple's public App Store endpoints — the iTunes lookup/search API, the public customer-reviews feed, and public listing pages — to fetch the public App Store data you asked it to track.

We do not operate any backend, proxy, or relay. Requests go from your device directly to Apple and carry no personal identifiers beyond what any HTTP request includes. Your IP address is seen and handled by Apple as the endpoint operator — not by us; we never see your requests at all.

> NET: PUBLIC_APP_STORE_ONLY · no first-party servers · no request logging by us

03 // PURCHASES

Pro purchases (monthly, yearly, lifetime) are processed by Apple through your App Store account. We never see your payment details.

To validate your subscription entitlement, the app uses RevenueCat — the only third-party service Rival Radar uses. RevenueCat processes purchase receipts and an anonymous app user ID (not your name, email, or Apple ID) in accordance with the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

04 // NOTIFICATIONS

Rival Radar can send one optional local notification — a scan reminder. It is scheduled entirely on your device, only after you grant notification permission, and involves no push server. Decline or revoke the permission and nothing changes except the reminder.

05 // WHAT_WE_DON'T_DO

  • No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. We can't see how you use the app.
  • No advertising, no ad networks, no fingerprinting.
  • No tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency — there is nothing to track.
  • No sale or sharing of data. We hold no user data, so there is nothing to sell, share, or leak.

> APP_PRIVACY_LABEL: NO_TRACKING_SDKS

06 // EXPORTS

Pro can export your comparison archive to JSON or CSV. Exports are strictly user-initiated: the file is generated on your device and goes wherever you choose to save or share it. Once exported, that copy is under your control, outside the app's sandbox.

07 // DATA_DELETION

Because everything is on-device, deletion is complete and immediate:

  • Delete the app — iOS removes the app sandbox and the local database with it.
  • Use the in-app reset in Settings to wipe local data while keeping the app.

There is no server-side data to request, download, or ask us to erase — the copy on your device is the only copy.

08 // CHANGES_&_CONTACT

If this policy changes (for example, if a future feature adds a service), we will update this page and the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be called out in the app's release notes.
