Where does the data come from?
From the App Store itself. Rival Radar reads public listing data — titles, subtitles, screenshots, prices, release notes, search rankings, and public reviews — through Apple's public endpoints, directly from your device. Each scan is snapshotted locally, and the app diffs snapshots over time to build the change log and trends.
Is tracking rivals like this allowed?
Yes. Everything Rival Radar looks at is public metadata anyone can see by opening the App Store. There are no scraped private dashboards, no reverse-engineered analytics, no account impersonation. It's the same research you could do by hand every morning — the app just never forgets, and never misses a change.
Why is there no login?
Because there's nothing to log in to. Rival Radar is local-first: your tracked apps, snapshots, history, and keywords are stored in an on-device database, and there is no server-side copy of anything. No account also means no password, no email list, and no way for your competitive research to leak — even in a breach, because there's nothing to breach.
